What is Yoga for Active Seniors Like?
Yoga for Active Seniors is for those who believe that wellness is not defined by age! In this class we will use folding chairs, light hand weights and other yoga props to achieve success in terms of range of motion, mind-body connection, proper breathing, balance, postural awareness and more. No prior yoga experience is necessary to attend this class. This all levels style yoga class is the perfect way to start off your Thursday! It is taught in the Integrated Vinyasa style by Leia Morrison (5 time winner of the People's Choice Best Yoga Teacher Award, Yoga Teacher Trainer, Personal Trainer with 16 years of teaching experience). Leia's classes are challenging but safe and often injected with a good dose of humor. If you have your own mat please bring it, otherwise there are props you can borrow at the studio. Class price is $10 cash or check, paid at the door.
What can I expect in a 45 Minute Lunchtime Class?
This 45 minute all levels yoga class is the PERFECT way to spend your lunch break! I can guarantee you'll walk out feeling more grounded, focused and ready for the rest of your day. Many businesses and corporations throughout the world recognize and appreciate the value of workday yoga and have found that those who take a break mid-day to move, breathe and connect, return to their workday more productive and positive! This class is in the style of Integrated Vinyasa meaning that we will move in an intentional direction from start to finish (a.k.a. you won't be taught the splits without addressing your hamstrings and hip flexors first!). We meet in the Gunnison Arts Center dance studio so you can enter either from the outside staircase on Tomichi Avenue or from the front of the building on South Main. Cost is $10 cash or check. Yoga props are available for use at class.
What's is Integrated Vinyasa?
This all levels style yoga class is the perfect way to start off your Thursday! It is taught in the Integrated Vinyasa style by Leia Morrison (5 time winner of the People's Choice Best Yoga Teacher Award, Yoga Teacher Trainer, Personal Trainer with 16 years of teaching experience). Integrated vinyasa means that we will be "flowing" from one asana (pose) to the next but in a way that makes sense for our anatomy. Each class has a "peak" pose which you are prepped for throughout the class... from the first movement to the last. Leia's classes are challenging but safe and often injected with a good dose of humor. All levels of practice are welcome. If you have your own mat please bring it, otherwise there are props you can borrow at the studio. Class price is $10 cash or check, paid at the door.
How do I sign up?

For workshops, trainings & retreats, pre-registration information will be included in the description of the workshop or retreat.
